Join 651 ARTS and our think-tank family members for a creative dialogue and reflection on how to collectively nurture our needs and desires for an artistic haven in Brooklyn.
This season, we have reflected on our home: Brooklyn. As a cultural mecca, Brooklyn is an ever evolving city, and so too are our artistic practices and the communities that support our work. Since October, we’ve been in conversation with a group of dynamic playwrights, poets, musicians, dancers, teachers, and arts administrators who are thinking alongside us about what it means to serve our beloved friends, artists, and neighbors in this time of cultural, neighborhood, and national evolution.
Through self-designed creative responses that incorporate poetry, dance, storytelling and more, this creative dialogue will invite us all to respond to one central question: How do we collectively cultivate a home for Brooklyn-made artists of African descent? We'll toast the creativity of our think-tank participants and supporters and strategize next steps toward our cultural sanctuary in Brooklyn.
Tune in to the conversation online at #BKArtHome. You can learn more about Home in the Time of Brooklyn: http://www.651arts.org/interact/think-tank-HITB
